Council Approves Multiple Housing Schemes Across Coventry Neighborhoods

Coventry City Council approved the fifth phase of the Eastern Green estate, adding 344 new homes including 86 affordable units to a development that will reach a total of 2,400 homes.

Eastern Green Estate Phase Five

The approval brings the project closer to its expected completion in 2039. The scheme forms part of wider efforts to expand housing supply in the eastern part of the city while incorporating affordable options within the overall total.

City Centre South Regeneration

A £450m scheme is set to create 1,500 homes across two phases. Phase one will deliver 991 homes plus commercial space, with work that began in summer 2024 scheduled to finish in summer 2032. The project is listed among the regeneration initiatives creating modern neighborhoods and energy-efficient homes.

Spon End Revitalization

Approval was granted for a £120m revitalization in the Spon End area. The work will add new homes to existing 1960s housing through the renovation of three structures. Construction is due to start in March 2027 and finish by 2035.

Abbotts Park Plans

Plans were unveiled for a sustainable community of 700 new homes on a former gas works site near the city centre. The proposal was revised after an earlier rejection by the council and focuses on the former industrial location.

These projects align with the major 2025 regeneration activity that includes Friargate alongside City Centre South. The developments are producing modern neighborhoods and high-demand energy-efficient new-build homes.
